Contemporary Art Fair 2009 Arévalo

This year 2009 marks the V edition of the Contemporary Art Fair, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Arevalo (which celebrates its centenary), an event, which gradually grows and taking shape. We continue to have a strong presence of young artists and community Castilian-Leonese, without renouncing to present consolidated figures and / or from other countries. The fair began as an artists fair, until, at last year, began working the gallery Catharsis in Madrid, who repeated this year, which joins the room Morillo, also in Madrid. We hope to increase this number artistic spaces in the future. This art event is privileged to be one of the few exhibitions in which contemporary art can be seen in the province of Avila. This is important, first, because there is no museum or art center in the province and the few galleries and exhibition halls that exist do not have a regular program of contemporary art, and, secondly, it is celebrated in a sparsely populated and largely rural, which has a number of features and specific characteristics, which also aspires to become, over time, in a cultural landmark, both for the local population and the public elsewhere.
